New Christmas Cards

I finally splurged and bought a Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine.....wow what a machine!!
I also signed up for some classes on My Creative Classroom - one of them is making Christmas Cards using the Silhouette. Here is the link to the class: Creative Silhouette Series: Christmas Cards (Oct 30th) - Christine Ousley (Silhouette Christmas Cards - Fall)

So here are the first of my cards:

In the class, the lovely Christine used a Christmas title that she had bought from the Silhouette shop, but as I am already very familiar with making my own titles and such with Photoshop Elements and because I was not really sure on the whole commercial use vs. personal use in the Silhouette shop, I decided to make my own title. I used Rockwell Extra Bold font for the title.
I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut the title out of two different papers from Handmade Holiday paper by Simple Stories.
I then offset the title and welded the letters to make the card base. The card base is cut out of some kraft card stock by Francheville.

I have attached the paper to the card and then outlined the letters with Chocolate Spica pen.

For the holly, I downloaded an image from Birdhouse Stamps, welded three berries together then had the Silhouette cut three holly leaves and the berries out of Christmas card stock by AC Cardstock.

For both sizes I have handmade envelopes from recycled kraft wrapping paper. I adhered some cardstock and/or the same plaid paper to the inside of the envelope to make it stronger and add colour.

All will be for sale on Etsy in my shop: JemLou Productions. Link for the small cards, link for the big cards.

Hope you have an enjoyable Tuesday - we have Melbourne Cup Holiday here.

Sunflowers Thinking of You Card

Here is my latest creation.....

It is for a new challenge blog I joined - The Outlawz Challenges. There is a group called the creative freebie challenge where they give you two digital stamps and you must make something out of at least one of them.
So I have digitally stamped the sunflowers by Sandi Huggett on to X-Press It paper, then coloured with Copics (mostly from LimeTart).
I used:

  • leaves: YG03, YG63, YG67
  • sunflowers: Y02, YR07, Y28, E37
  • background: B000
I also used a black Copic Multi liner to add detail to the flower centres.
The coloured sunflowers were fussy cut and adhered to the card with pop dots.
I also coloured a piece of ribbon (Celebrate, Spotlight) with YR07 and some self adhesive rhinestones (KaiserCraft) with YG67.

As the ribbon extended to the inside of the card, I have covered the ends with a piece of green check patterned origami paper (Daiso).

Thinking of you (Hero Arts, Clear Design Thinking of You Messages) is stamped with VersaMark Watermark ink (Tsukineko), sprinkled with Zing! black glitter finish embossing powder (American Crafts Brand) and then heat embossed - yes, this is the first time that I have heat embossed something! It was fun!!!

The card is blank inside, other than the green gingham paper and a white envelope is included. Both card and envelope from Envelope Solutions.

This card will be linked up to The Outlawz Challenges blog and will be available for sale in my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions. Click here for the link.

Water Can Marci Card - choose your sentiment

Here is a new card I put together using Watercan Marci (La-La Land Crafts), some free paper from Australian Papercraft Essentials and an orange daisy flower made from a die-cut and my new die-cutting/embossing toy!

I digitally printed Marci with Watering Can onto X-Press It blending paper (Lime Tart) and coloured her with the following Copics pens (mostly from Lime Tart):
  • skin: E000, E00, E11, lipstick Spica pen
  • hair: E50, E51, E53, E11
  • dress: RV10, RV13, RV14, RV17, Y11, Y15, Y17
  • boots: YG11, YG13, YG17, white Opaque pen
  • watering can: YG11, YG13, YG17
  • hat: Y11, Y15, Y17
  • flower on hat: RV10, RV13, RV14, RV17, Y15, Y17, clear Spica pen
  • background: B000
The daisy flower is die cut from some orange card stock I think is from DCWV.

Inspiration for the card came from the Australian Simply Cards magazine.

The card is a square white card and it comes with a white square envelope (both from Envelope Solutions).
The card does not have a sentiment as yet, but I think I will add it to my Choose your sentiment card series. Suitable sentiments could include "Happy Birthday", "Have a happy day", "Hello"......the list goes on! :)

This card will also be displayed in the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery and will be for sale in my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions. Link to follow.

Merry Christmas with Sunny Christmas Marci

Here is a card I made using Sunny Christmas Marci and some papers and die cuts from KaiserCraft.
The background paper and merry christmas sentiment are from Mint Twist 6 1/2" Paper Pad and the reindeer is from Mint Twist Collectables (all KaiserCraft).

Sunny Christmas Marci from La-La Land Crafts has been digitally printed on to X-Press It paper (Lime Tart) and hand coloured with Copics pens (mostly from Lime Tart), then fussy cut and adhered with foam adhesive squares.

For the life of me, I can't find the paper with the colours that I used. But when I do, I'll update this page.

The card is a square white card and it comes with a white square envelope (both from Envelope Solutions).

This card will also be displayed in the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery and is for sale in my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions. Here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/156134833/merry-christmas-with-sunny-christmas.

Merry Christmas Surprise Pop Up Card

I have just finished making my first surprise pop up card - visit Splitcoaststampers for some instructions on how to make one of these cards.

Here is a photo of the card closed and then open showing its surprise!

For the card, I used Kraft card stock from Franchville (Spotlight), then I covered the actual card with a green paper from Silly Season by KaiserCraft. The Merry Christmas sentiment is also from Silly Season by KaiserCraft. Red and white Baker's yarn is from KoKoVanillaDesigns.
Christmas Elf Luka from La-La Land Crafts is digitally printed on X-Press It card from Lime Tart and then coloured with Copics pens.
I used the following colours:

  • skin: E00, E11
  • hair: E31, E33, E35
  • hat and clothes: R20, R22, R27, YG00, YG03, YG17, YR16 (buckle), clear spica pen
  • presents: B00, B02, B05, R20, R22, R27, YG00, YG03, YG17
  • background: BG000
Luka is attached to the card with pop up adhesive dots for dimension.
The card is blank inside, I'll need to make an envelope for it.

I will link this to the La-La Land Craft Customer Gallery and also submit this to a new challenge: Addicted to Stamps and More - ATSM Challenge #49 - CAS and a challenge from a site I have participated in before - Paper Makeup Stamps: Digi Makeover Challenge #92 - Kraft.

I have been a little slack over Christmas, but it has not stopped my creativity!
Here is a new card for a challenge at Cupcake Inspirations:
I have coloured Travel Marci from La-La Land Crafts with Copics, then fussy cut her, attached her to some Kraft card (Envelope Solutions). The Bon voyage stamp is from KaiserCraft, stamped in Cocoa Memento ink.
A Kraft envelope (Envelope Solutions) is also included.
The Copic pens I used were:

  • skin: E00, E02
  • hair: YR20, E33, E35
  • hat: E00, E02 (i think!)
  • dress/pants: R20, R22
  • boots: E33, E35, E37
  • purse: R20, R22
  • suitcase: E00, R20, R22
  • background: BG10

I have some other new cards that I will post later this weekend.
