Two Cute Penguins - Colour Crazy Challenge for the 21st of December 2018

Here is my last card for 2018! Wow, I can't believe how quickly that this year has passed.

At Colour Crazy Challenge we are being sponsored by Polkadoodles and the image I chose was two Cute Penguins.

I have digitally printed the two cute penguins on to X-Press It Blending card. I combined the two images in my Silhouette Cameo software and then proceeded to try and cut them out, but he is misbehaving - hopefully over the next month I can sort him out!
I have used the following Copics markers to colour the cute penguins:

  • black - C3, C5, C7, C9, black Wink of Stella
  • white - C00, C0, C1
  • feet and beaks - YR12, YR16, YR18
  • scarves - R22, R24, R27, G02, G05, G07
  • holly leaves - YG13, YG67, G09, G19
  • holly berries - R14, R17
  • snow - BV20, C0, colourless blender, clear Wink of Stella
  • background - BG0000, BG000, BG10

I went pretty simple and CAS with the design of the card. I used a sentiment from Tweet Tidings by the wonderful Marcella at Power Poppy. I stamped it in Rich Cocoa Memento ink using my MISTI.

The Kraft card is from Envelope Solutions.

Here is a close-up of the colouring:

It is the last challenge of the year at Winter Wonderland!

And the end of year theme is:

ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES

Please remember that it is Christmas projects only and they must include the theme.

This challenge will go until the 3rd of January next year and from next year we are changing to monthly instead of fortnightly challenges. We will be posting a new challenge on the first Friday of every month.

So back to this challenge, we are sponsored by...

The prize for the winner of the challenge is 2 digis of their choice.

Welcome to the brilliantly bizarre brain of Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. Here you will find monsters, aliens, odd balls and Dundertons as well as many more.

So on to my card this challenge - I have used the Last Tree in the Shop and I have digitally printed it on to X-Press It Blending Card and then had my Silhouette Cameo cut out the image. He actually behaved this week! :) I printed and cut a few images of the same size with the intention of making a pack of six little cards and envelopes.
I have only had time to finish two of them:

I have coloured the image with the following Copics markers:

  • tree - E71, E74, E77
  • star - Y32, YR15, clear Wink of Stella

I have adhered the coloured image to small square Kraft cards from Envelope Solutions.

Then I have used my behaving Silhouette Cameo to cut out some small envelopes from Metallic Red Canson Messages paper.

Here is a close-up of the colouring - you can actually see the sparkle!

I will add these cards to the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - Z is for ZERO embellishments

Friendship - Colour Crazy Challenge for the 23rd of November, 2018

Well I was invited to stay on at Colour Crazy Challenge and I decided to do just that as I was having so much fun! So I have found some time to colour two of the images that we had available from Bugaboo Stamps and made a card following a sketch.
So here is my card:

I have used Bobblehead Reindeer and Polar Bear and digitally printed them on to X-Press It Blending Card. I tried to use my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out, but something happened and the polar bear's hand was slightly cut off! So I aborted that cutting and had to fussy cut - so totally not a fan of fussy cutting! I think my Silhouette may need a software upgrade, but I have no time to work it out, so I will keep trying! SO hopefully I have covered up the fact that the polar bear is missing part of his hand by the reindeer!! :)

Anyway, I have used the following Copics markers to colour the bobblehead reindeer and the polar bear:
  • reindeer - E40, E43 (chest), E21, E23, E25, E27, E29
  • hooves - E40, E43, E44, E47
  • nose and ears - RV10, RV11
  • antlers - E71, E74, E77
  • background - BG10, BG01
  • polar bear - C00, C0, C1, C3, colourless blender
  • feet pads, nose and ears - C0, RV10, RV11
  • scarf - BG02, BG05, BG07
  • background - BG10, BG01
  • outline of paper - E23
  • outline of sentiment piece - YG97
I have followed the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I used a paper from Holly Bright by KaiserCraft and a sentiment piece as well that I stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink with a sentiment from Cozy Cupfuls by Marcella at Power Poppy. I then adhered everything to a white card from Envelope Solutions.

Here is a close-up of the colouring:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crimbo Crackers #172 - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations #378 - Anything Goes
Happy Little Stampers November Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes with the optional twist: CAS

Reindeer Building A Snowman - Winter Wonderland Challenge for the 9th of November 2018

Well I'm the host for this fortnight at Winter Wonderland!
And the theme is:
What you love to do at Christmas!
Or in the case of our Southern Hemisphere friends (me included!) what you love to do in Winter or in the snow!
For example: build snowmen, drink hot drinks, wrap presents to give to friends and family, or unwrap them!

We would love to see your projects, whatever they may be, using the theme.
But remember that it is CHRISTMAS PROJECTS ONLY.

So here is my card:

We are sponsored this fortnight by Kinda Cute.

Visit my shop
Visit my blog
Watch my YouTube videos

I started drawing when I was a little kid and I developed a very realistic style. I usually painted animals and plants from photos, thinking that I would never had enough imagination to draw something without looking at it first. I am so glad I was wrong!!! When I had my kids a few years ago I started telling stories, making toys, and drawing for them. It opened a new world for me. I love making illustrations and I would love if you could sense that there could be a little story behind them. I surely have a story for many of them.

And the prize on offer to the winner is 3 digital stamps from Kinda Cute.

So back to my card:
I digitally printed Reindeer Building a Snowman on to X-Press It Blending card, which I tried to get my Silhouette Cameo to cut out, but it had a bit of a hissy fit! So I have ended up using my paper cutter.
I have coloured the image with the following Copics markers:
  • Reindeer fur - E23, E25, E27, E29
  • Reindeer ear - R20
  • Reindeer nose - lipstick Spica pen
  • Reindeer antlers - E81, E84, E87
  • Reindeer hooves - E84, E87
  • Reindeer collar - BG57, gold Wink of Stella
  • Snowman body - C00, C0, C1, C2, colourless blender
  • Snowman nose - lipstick Spica pen
  • Snowman eyes and mouth - black Wink of Stella
  • Snowman sticks - E77
  • Snowman scarf - YG11, YG13, YG07
  • Snowman buttons - BG57, clear Wink of Stella
  • Background - B0000, B00
  • Snow - C00, C0, BV0000, colourless blender
Here is a close up of the colouring:

I have attached my coloured image on to a small square card from Envelope Solutions.

I will add this card to the following challenges:
Happy Little Stampers November Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes with an optional twist of CAS
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #410 - Anything Goes as long as its Christmas

Here is another photo of the card:

There is inspiration from the rest of the Snowflakes DT over on the Winter Wonderland blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name. Happy Fall Y'All - Power Poppy October Power & Spark Challenge

Hi Y'all!
I have missed saying that! I used it a lot when I was living in the US in the deep south of Louisiana and then in Indiana!

This month at Power Poppy, the Power & Spark Challenge is all about your birthday month.

My birthday was this month and here in Australia it is Spring - so I have been taking lots of photos of all the flowers that are coming up. But when I lived in the Northern Hemisphere, of course it was Autumn in October, which is also a favourite season for me - I love all the colours of the leaves and the stomping in the leaves!

So I have put together a quick card for Fall/Autumn:

The stamp is from Feeling Fall by the wonderful Marcella at Power Poppy.

I have stamped using Rich Cocoa Memento ink on to X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI.
I coloured with the following Copics markers:
  • cat - C3, C5, C7, C9, 100, R20 (nose), Black Copic Multiliner (whiskers), white gel pen
  • bow - YG11, YG06, YG09
  • pumpkins - oranges - Y23, YR31, Y35, Y38, YR14, E08
  • pumpkins - greens - YG11, YG06, YG09
  • pumpkin stem - E57, E59
  • background - BG000, C1

I then cut the image out and adhered it to a small Kraft card by Envelope Solutions. I stamped the sentiment from Feeling Fall and the three individual leaves all with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and my MISTI!

Here is a close-up of the colouring:

I am entering this into the following challenges:
October Power & Spark - You say it's your birthday!
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge #92 - Always anything goes
Crafty Creations Challenge #377 - Anything Goes

I also stamped a few more images from Feeling Fall, so I will share those next month.

Happy Purr Day - Colour Crazy Challenge for the 26th of October, 2018

Well this is my last Guest Designer month at Colour Crazy Challenge, unless they want to keep me on! It has been an awesome three months - if I had had more time, I would have taken advantage of all the amazing stamps that are available from some incredible designers. But unfortunately, time is not something that I have a lot of at the moment.

So this week, we are kindly sponsored by "Polkadoodles" and as usual, the theme is ANYTHING GOES!
I have used "Happy Purr-Day Cat" to make my card:

I digitally printed the stamps on to X-Press It Blending Card, then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out.
I then coloured with the following Copics Markers:
  • fur: BV000, BV00, BV20, W1, W2, W4
  • crown: Y00, YR31, Y17, E23
  • cupcake: RV63, RV66, E31, E33, E35, RV13, RV17, RV19
  • background: BG0000, BG10, BG01
  • sentiment: BG10, BG01
I adhered the coloured image and sentiment using double-sided tape on to a Birthday embossed card from Fundamentals (we buy them from Spotlight here in Australia).

Here is a close-up of the colouring:

I have tried to follow Alyce's instructions in her class - All About Animals for the fur of a Persian kitty, similar to Alyce's own sweet kitty! You can sign up for the class on Kit and Clowder.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #92 - Always Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread Challenge #79 - Anything Goes

Here is the card again on a side angle - it seems to pick up the light better!

Arctic or Antarctic Animals - Winter Wonderland Challenge for the 12th of October, 2018

Again I thought I was going to be organised this fortnight, but I came home after nearly a week in Denver for a conference totally out of it and wanted to try and keep moving, so that I didn't fall asleep too early.

Anyway, our host for this fortnight is Deanne and she decided on the theme: Arctic or Antarctic Animals, which means that you can use a walrus, polar bear, penguins, just to name a few on your Christmas Projects this fortnight.

Please remember that it is Christmas Projects Only and they must include the theme.

So here is my card:

We are sponsored this fortnight by Sheepski Designs.

Living in Leeds, Yorkshire in the UK, working full time as a Management Accountant, currently working on 2 design teams and an obsessive crafter and creator of cards. I have no actual style as yet but do love the unusual and quirky. I may be known for producing cards in soft pastel colours. I love anything arty. I've always drawn stuff, for as long as I can remember. In my younger days I sold a few watercolour paintings. I recently found mixed media which is a joy and love creating canvases with flowers. I had a battle with digital drawing for about a year and finally found some software I could gel with. January 2016 a challenge team I worked on was short of a designer's images to create with so I drew some. I opened my shop a month later so I could sponsor challenges and give something back to the crafting world, to the lovely ladies who have supported me on my journey. I've a Facebook group SheepSki Designs where I hold challenges, some for fun to win digis as well as my monthly card challenge. I've a SheepSki Designs challenge blog as well. Things are growing slowly (thankfully) so I still manage to spend at least a little time with my hubby. Welcome to my world Andrea xx

Andrea is offering 3 images of choice for the random winner.

So back to my card.
Last time we were sponsored by SheepSki Designs, I used the wonderful Penguin Huddle and I actually printed a whole bunch of them in different sizes on X-Press It blending card and had my Silhouette Cameo cut them out. Then this week, I have coloured the image with the following Copics markers:
  • black of Penguins: W3, W5, W7, W9, white Prismacolour pencil
  • white of Penguins: E40, E41, E43, W1, colourless blender
  • beaks and feet of Penguins: Y11, Y15, Y17, YR14, E15
  • reds: R22, R24, R29, R59
  • greens: YG03, G05, G07, G29
  • white of hats and ear muffs: Crystal ice Ice Stickles
  • glasses of third penguin from the left: clear Glossy Accents
  • snow: C1, B60, V01, V22, clear Wink of Stella
  • background: B91, B93, B95, B97, B99, white gel pen

I have attached my coloured image on to a white square card from Envelope Solutions that I have embossed with a snowflake embossing folder (a freebie with a magazine). To make the snowflakes stand out I have highlighted them with clear Wink of Stella.

Here is a close-up of the colouring:

I am adding this card to the following challenges:
Happy Little Stampers October Christmas Challenge - Anything Goes with Optional Twist: Ribbon
A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge #77 - Anything Goes

There is inspiration from the rest of the Snowflakes DT over on the Winter Wonderland blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name.
