Tag! You're It for Let's Craft and Create Challenge #183 on the 5th of May, 2022

I am late for this month's challenge as I have been travelling for work all week and was very tired when I finally arrived home and not enough focus to sit in front of my computer to finish this post. So it is now the 7th of May, which is my little boy's 13th birthday! Thankfully I was organised enough to send the photos to Sherry and I was going to finish the post when I was away, but too much work!

Anyway.....for this month's challenge at Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog we have the optional theme of

TAG! You're It

(Use a tag)

I have been wanting to use Gamer Luka from La-La Land Crafts since he was released in February as he is just like my little boy and I wanted to make a gift card tag using dies from La-La Land Crafts.

So this is what I made:

The image Gamer Luka was stamped on to X-Press It Blending card using my MISTI and Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured with the following Copics markers:

• skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, 100, white gel pen
• hair - E23, E25, E27, YR24
• green hat - G02, G05, G17, colourless blender on a piece of nappy to give it a textured look
• yellow t-shirt - Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, white gel pen
• blue pants - B93, B95, B97, B99
• shoes - C1, C3, C5, R24, R46, R89
• controller - C3, C5, R46

To make the tag I have used a few dies from La-La Land Crafts. I have die cut twice from white cardstock the largest tag of the Large Stitched Tags using my new Big Shot Machine, then I adhered the two tags together back to back. 

From one of the papers from the Note to Self Paper Pack I die cut the Right Pocket and the insert. I have adhered them together and then attached to the front of the tag using a gift card to ensure that there is enough room.

I have stamped on to the bottom of the tag the sentiment from Gamer Luka using my MISTI and Nautical Blue Memento ink - I love the font that Irina has used!

I fussy cut Luka and then adhered him using a few glue dots on to the right side of the pocket

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the awesome Irina and the La-La Land Crafts Design Team and the wonderful Monthly Classes and Bonus Classes from the awesome Alyce at Kit and Clowder.

Christofer, the birthday boy has been eyeing off the tag - so I need to find a gift card to place in there that actually has some money on it!

April Card Chain Challenge Reveal

I signed up again for the Card Chain Challenge! Essentially you sign up and make a card that you send to the person before you in the sign up and the person that signed up after you, sends you a card!

For April, I made a card to send to Dawn over in New Zealand - this is what I sent her:

Theme Options: Spring / Wild / Friendship

Product / Technique Options: Vellum / Slimline

I chose the Spring/Wild/Friendship theme!

I have used one of the first clear stamp sets from La-La Land Crafts called "Spring Woodland Critters". It was released in April 2018 and unfortunately is no longer available, but I have been wanting to use it for ages! I stamped them last month when I was stamping the farm animals. There is a new clear stamp set with a few additional wild animals "A Good Day" that is part of the new April 2022 Release from La-La Land Crafts and also in the Spring 2022 box!

Anyway, I stamped the individual animals on to X-Press It Blending Card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured 3 of the five animals with the following Copics (I ran out of time and space for the beaver and squirrel! I'll use them with the new animals!):

• rabbit - C1, C3, C5, R20, 100, white gel pen
• deer - E42, E44, E47, E49, R30, C1, C3, C5, 100, white gel pen
• fox - E11, E13, E15, E18, C0, C1, C3, R20, 100, white gel pen
• pink - R32, R35, RV29 or RV23, RV25
• green - G20, G24, G29
• orange - YR04, YR09, YR12, YR18
• yellow - Y11, Y13, Y15
• outline - BV20

Here is a close up of the colouring of the three animals and then nearly finished colouring of the deer:

For the background, I used a new die that was in the Spring Box 2022/April 2022 Release called Forest die and die cut the layers from white card stock and then coloured with Distress Oxide inks:  

I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean on the background layer, then for the green: Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron and then for the brown: Vintage Photo and Antique Linen.

The trees have been coloured with E19 and E49 Copics pens.

Then I adhered all the layers together before fussy-cutting the animals and laying everything out:

Once I was happy with the layout, I adhered everything to a Kraft card from Envelope Solutions:

I then used some foam tape to adhered the critters to the card, especially as there are four different layers of card stock!

I have used Nautical Blue Memento ink to stamp the sentiment from the Spring Woodland Critters on the outside and then I stamped the inside with another sentiment from the same set, as well as some flowers using my MISTI and Bamboo Leaves and Love Letter Memento ink.

I found inspiration from La-La Land Crafts DT, who showcased some awesome cards using all three stamp sets and background stamps and as usual, from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and her fantastic monthly classes.

Cup of Joy by Joy Clair Designs for the Little Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge LPOCF #181 on the 1st of May, 2022

Welcome to my post about my card for challenge #181, the 1st of May 2022 challenge for the Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog. Wow can you believe that it is May already - my little boy Christofer turns 13 years old on the 7th - no longer a little boy!

Anyway, here is my completed card:

I think Cup of Joy was chosen as we are so close to Mother's Day and they are the perfect images for just such an occasion! I have digitally printed one of the cup images with a sentiment on to X-Press It Blending card and then coloured with the following Copics markers:

• cup & saucer blue - B12, B14, B16, B18
• cup & saucer purple - V12, V15, V17
• greenery - YG03, YG63, YG67 or G03, G07
• pink flower - RV11, RV14, RV17, RV19
• yellow flowers - Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, E35, E39
• turquoise flower - BG13, BG15, BG18, E35, E97, E39
• green blobs - YG21, YG23, YG25
• yellow macaroon with pink filling - Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, RV63, RV66
• green macaroon with yellow filling - G12, G14, G17, Y13, Y15, Y17

I have cut out the coloured image with my paper cutter, added the outlines and corners before adhering it on to a square white card from Envelope Solutions.
