Sketch or Tic Tac Toe - Winter Wonderland Challenge for the 23rd of September

I am trying not to be late this week!!
This week at Winter Wonderland, we are hosted by Christine, who has decided to shake it up a little and have a sketch:

Or the alternative is a Tic Tac Toe - this means that you pick one of the lines of options, for example patterned paper, sparkle or shine and tree.

We have two sponsors this week:
Beccy's Place, who is offering three digi images or one digi set to the winner.

and Crafty Ribbons, who are offering $10 to spend in their store.

Please remember that to be in with a chance of winning a prize that it is Christmas Projects only.

So on to my card!
I started following the tic tac toe right down the middle - so tree, sparkle or shine and patterned paper. But then I had a really hard time trying to find a patterned paper that went with my colouring. So I decided on the other middle - blue, sparkle or shine and embossing.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a circle of X-Press It paper, then I stamped the snowbound country church from O Holy Night from Power Poppy using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
I then coloured the image with the following Copics pens:
  • sky: B39, B29, B28, B18, B16, BG01, Y11 (around the moon)
  • moon: Y11, C1, C3
  • trees: G17, G82, YG11
  • wreath: G17, YG11, R29
  • house: E39, E35, E31
  • snow: BV20, clear Wink of Stella
Here is a close up of the colouring:
You can see all the Wink of Stella on the snow and trees!

The idea for the sky came from the Kit and Clowder Easy Night Sky from Alyce's Background Handbook Part I and the colours were from Create and Learn April 2015.

I have then embossed a piece of green Core Essentials glitter cardstock with an Ultimate Crafts Winter Chill embossing folder. I scored and cut it on an angle to fit with the Sketch Saturday sketch #430 from the 17th of September:

I adhered the embossed green glitter card stock to a square Kraft card from Envelope Solutions.
I stamped the sentiment "Peace on Earth" from O Holy Night by Power Poppy in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.
I adhered the coloured piece over the top of the embossed piece and then for the two embellishments, I used stickles to adhere two pearl dew drops underneath the coloured piece.

Here is the finished card:

Hopefully you can see some of the glitter on the snow and trees.

Lots of Layers/Wish Upon a Star - Winter Wonderland Challenge for the 9th of September

I am really really late this week.....it has been a crazy few months.

This week at Winter Wonderland, we are hosted by Cindy, who has chosen the themes:
"Lots of Layers"
or
"Wish Upon a Star"

This means that you need to create a card with at least 4 layers, or have a star somewhere on your card or use both themes.

I decided that I should try to use a stamp that I have not used before - Shining Star Marci from La-La Land Crafts. She is the January 2015 Club La-La Land image, but is now available as a rubber stamp and digital stamp, plus the Shooting Star Set and there are some dies of a star borderfiligree stars and moon.

I stamped Marci and the fence on to X-Press It paper, then fussy cut them (pretty much the first time I have fussy cut anything! I don't really like fussy cutting! Much prefer my Silhouette Cameo!) and coloured them with the following Copics markers:
  • skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, red lipstick Spica pen
  • hair: E43, E44, E47, E49 (I followed Alyce's August 2016 Create and Learn from Kit and Clowder)
  • top: C00, C02, C03, silver Wink of Stella
  • skirt and headband: YG61, YG63, YG67
  • star: gold Wink of Stella
  • fence: E11, E13, E15, E18
I ran round the edge of each image with my Copics marker 100.

To make the card, I adhered a 6x6 piece of paper from Handmade Holiday by Simple Stories (which I just noticed is retired) to a square Kraft card from Envelope Solutions. I then have stamped some stars using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I originally also stamped the sentiment "Wish upon a shooting star" in the same ink, then when I was writing this, I realised it is not that Christmasy. So I have covered some scrap X-Press It paper with some X-Press It Glitter Deco Tape (Miss Aby picked it up at Paperific last month) and die cut the star border, made it into a sticker using my Xyron, then adhered the main border behind Marci and the three inset stars over the words "shooting star". Then I adhered some gold sequins using gold Glitzin' glamour (glitter glue).

As I have used a few things that have been in my stash for a while, I was going to enter this card into the NBUS Challenge, but I notice it has finished for now. I'll have to wait for the next one. But I will enter this card into the Anything goes challenge at A Snowflakes Promise.

At Winter Wonderland we have two wonderful sponsors this week:

Michele at Michele R Designs who is offering a 10 pound voucher to the lucky winner

and by Live and Love Crafts who are giving the winner a 10 pound voucher to spend in their store

Please remember that to be in with a chance of winning a prize that it is Christmas Projects only.
