Power & Spark Special Sketch Challenge

I have a new card for the latest Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy. It is a sketch challenge, but with a little twist! You need to create cut-outs on your card to share a snippet or give a "peek" of fun underneath! Here is the sketch:

I came close to following the sketch! I used the ideas of the cut-outs - I created a cut file on my Silhouette Cameo to cut out three Christmas Balls of two different sizes out of some Christmas cardstock. Then I stamped with black Memento Ink, coloured with Copics and fussy cut a Christmas hat, poinsettia and some holly with berries. The Christmas hat and poinsettia are from the stamp set Merry Littles. The holly with berries is from Heaven & Nature Sing.
I used the following Copics:

  • Christmas hat - R32, R35, R37, G00, G05, G07, clear Wink of Stella, B000
  • Poinsettia - R32, R35, R37, R89, gold Wink of Stella, B000
  • Holly with Berries - G21, G85, G28, G29, R46, R59, B000
I stamped the sentiment "be Merry" from Merry Littles in Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink.
The card is from Envelope Solutions.
I guess I had better show you the card now! :)

I have a bunch of these cut-outs now, so I probably will use this idea for a bunch of Christmas cards.

Thanks for looking!

For A Child - Winter Wonderland Card Challenge for 25th of March 2016

We have a new challenge at Winter Wonderland. The theme chosen by Pat K is 'For A Child'. We would like to see a Christmas project that any child would like.

Please remember Christmas projects only.
We are sponsored this week by 'All Dressed Up' Images who are offering 2 digis for the winner.

Hi I am Wendy Burns I live in Nottingham UK with my husband and two children who have been the inspiration behind the characters,  in particular my daughter who has kept me up-to-date with blogging and trends.  I work predominantly within the textile children’s wear market, fashion and interiors.
I trained as a textile designer and although my work is digital based, I love to retain that hand drawn /sewn feel which I hope comes across in my artwork.
Digital stamps is a new challenge for me and the opportunity to work with the All Dressed Up Team and has been very exciting, in particular the creative way my characters have been given individual personalities by the designers .
All Dressed Up is a newly launched blog with an enthusiastic team who are passionate about stamping.  The coordinators Marilyn and Tracy along with an amazing design team are also known as The Dressy Girls.
We have a friendly Facebook page, regular blog posts, tutorials, challenges and freebies .The stamps can be purchased from the Etsy shop which is updated on a monthly basis.

We really are friendly bunch and would love to see your creations so please feel free to contact us and visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog.

I used a cute image from All Dressed Up called Christmas Post, which is available from the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop.
Here is my card:

I coloured the image with the following Copics Pens:

  • Cat: N3, N5, N7, N9, RV63, G14, YG09, G17
  • Cat's envelope: BG02
  • Dog: E08, E19, E29, YG03, G14, YG09, G17, R32, R35, R37
  • Dog's envelope: G00
  • Post box: R32, R35, R37, 100, Y28, black Wink of Stella (writing)
  • Snowflakes: silver Wink of Stella
  • Background: B000, B00, B02 (edge of sentiment)

The sentiment is from one of the La La Land Craft stamps.
The image is printed on X-Press It Card and then adhered to a piece of green AC Cardstock - Christmas that I in my stash and then both are adhered to a Kraft card from Envelope Solutions.

There is inspiration from the Snowflakes DT on the Winter Wonderland blog.  We always appreciate a visit so if you click the name you can hop over and leave them a comment and also find out if they have combined their challenge with any others, which could give you some ideas.

I'm on the Snowflakes Team at Winter Wonderland and Penguins!

I found out on Friday that I am on the Snowflakes Team at Winter Wonderland! Pretty exciting and cool as it really pushes me to get my Christmas Cards done and to use all the stamps, paints and other really cool crafty stuff that I have collected over the last few years - especially Christmas stuff as that is my favourite time of the year!

There will be a lot more activity on this blog from now on! :) Also, I will add more of my cards to my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions.

So the challenge that is running at the moment on Winter Wonderland is Penguins. You can find all the details as well as some beautiful inspiration from the Icicles Team at the Winter Wonderland blog.

Here is my card for the challenge:

There are two different styles of Penguin, the one in the top left and the one in the bottom right are from Lawn Fawn - Toboggan Together. The one in the top right and the one in the bottom left are from The Greeting Farm - Let it Snow.
The sentiment is also from Let it Snow, as are the hat, bow ties and scarf.
I coloured the background using Copics: BG02, B16, B29 & B69. The snow is texture paste using the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp! I have used this background before! It is from Kathy at The Daily Marker in one of her colour challenges.

The penguins have been coloured with Copics too:

  • black - N5, N7, N9
  • orange - YR07
  • scarf - R27, YG09
  • red bowtie and hat - R35, R37
  • green bowtie - YG09, G17
I used Ranger Glossy Accents on the orange beaks and clear Wink of Stella pen on the eyes. I also added some Wink of Stella to the tops of the mountains.
The sentiment is stamped in Bamboo Leaves Memento ink.
The white square card is from Envelope Solutions.
