Traditional Christmas Colours - Red and Green - Winter Wonderland Challenge for the 24th of November, 2017

I'm late again, as I was travelling for work and then we have had thunder and lightning storms which has meant that I can't use my computer. :(

However, this fortnight we are hosted by Helen, who has decided that the theme will be......

Traditional Christmas Colours - Red and Green

Please remember that it is Christmas Projects only.
So here is my card:

Here is a close up of the colouring:

I have used the Snowman and Bird digital stamp from our wonderful sponsor Sasayaki Glitter.

They are offering the winner one digi image of their choice.
and their challenge blog is here - http://sasayakiglitter.blogspot.co.uk/
They also have a Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1725571720999725

I digitally printed this beautiful snowman image using my Silhouette Cameo on to X-Press It paper and then had my Silhouette cut out the image (so much easier than fussy cutting!)

I have then coloured the image with the following Copics markers:
  • snowman - 0, C1, C3, YR09, 100 (button)
  • snowman's arms - E74, E77, E79
  • snowman's scarf - YG03, G05, G07, R27
  • snowman's heart - R24, R27, R29, Wink of Stella
  • snowman's hat - R24, R27, R29
  • bird - Y11, Y15, YR09, RV19 (heart), Wink of Stella
  • flower - V25, Y15, Wink of Stella
  • snow - 0, B00, Wink of Stella, white gel pen
  • background - 0, B00, B000
I have then used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with one of those sponges to add some colour to the front of the card with some more white gel pen snowflakes.

I have then made a shaker card with a piece of transparency that I found on my shelves! Along with two layers of some thick double sided foam tape and a piece of green card stock that I have used a square die from KaiserCraft to cut my window for the shaker. Added some glitter, silver stars, pale blue and white seed beads and some die cut scraps to complete the shaker.

As you can see the foam tape (well I can anyway!) I have coloured it with YG97 Copic pen and then as I made a bit of an oopps on the green cardstock, I ran a line of it around the edge.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Non-Traditional Colours - Winter Wonderland Challenge for 20th of May 2016 - better late than never!

I'm a little late this week as I have been travelling quite a bit for work the last few weeks, plus a little boy's seventh birthday and party, so I have not been able to concentrate on colouring and making cards.

But the challenge this week at Winter Wonderland chosen by Christine is
"Non-Traditional Christmas Colours".

This means that you must create a card that is not red and green.

To be in with a chance of winning a prize, please remember that it is Christmas projects only.

We are sponsored by the fabulous Crafts and Me this week.

Here are my two gift cards, using the trees from Bottlebrush Holiday from Power Poppy:

I stamped the image on to water colour paper and coloured with the following Distress Markers:
  • picked raspberry
  • worn lipstick
  • spun sugar
  • dusty concord
  • seedless preserves
  • shaded lilac
  • chipped sapphire
  • blueprint sketch
  • tumbled glass
  • faded jeans
  • salty ocean
  • peacock feathers
  • spiced marmalade

The image has been die-cut using a decorative die called nesting frames by Kaisercraft. I have stamped the sentiment "be merry" from the same Bottlebrush Holiday by Power Poppy in Memento Bahama Blue ink on to a smaller die-cut. Both the image and sentiment are adhered to a Kraft card from Envelope Solutions.

There is inspiration from the Snowflakes DT on the Winter Wonderland blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name. We always appreciate a comment or two! :) Also you can find out what other challenges are out there, which could give you ideas.

Switch up your shades - Power Poppy Challenge - Card 2

My second card for the Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy this month is Hollyberries:

Again I have used the following Tim Holtz Distress Markers: Festive Berries, Pine Needles, Peeled Paint, Gathered Twig, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass.
The Merry Christmas stamp is part of the Poinsettia clear stamp set.
The kraft card is from Envelope Solutions and the red tag and green ribbon is from my stash (purchased long ago!)

Switch up your shades - Power Poppy Challenge - Card 1

The Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy this month is encouraging us to use a medium that we don't usually use. I have nearly the full set of the Tim Holtz Distress Markers, so I decided to give them a try with some of the Christmas stamps.
Here is a close up of my first card:

For the Glittering Glass Santa stamp, I used Festive Berries, Pine Needles, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive, Gathered Twigs, Black Soot, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass.
The Merry Christmas stamp is part of the Poinsettia clear stamp set.
The kraft card is from Envelope Solutions and the green tag and red ribbon I found in my stash (purchased long ago!)

Colouring with the Distress Markers was quite a change from Copics - as I have already a bunch of images printed and cut on watercolour paper I will definitely continue to use this different medium.
So "THANKS" to Allison for suggesting this challenge.
