EnTWINEd for Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog on the 5th of November, 2021

For this month's challenge at Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog we have the optional theme of

EnTWINEd (use twine)

So I searched through my stash to find something that I have not used before, but have wanted to use for ages and came up with this card:

I chose to use Knitting Marci and one of the kitties from Knit Happens which are part of the December 2020 Club La-La Land Crafts kit by the wonderful Irina at La-La Land Crafts
I have stamped the images on to X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured them with Copics before fussy cutting them out (I'm actually getting into fussy cutting now! Although give me a die anytime!!)
I also used the the basket from the Club kit, I stamped the background using Sweater Weather and I stamped the sentiment on one of the Long Flags Die.

Here is another photo:

As I mentioned, I have coloured the images with the following Copics markers:
  • skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, R30
  • hair - E21, E23, E25, E29
  • lips - R20, R22
  • pants/shoes - B91, B93, B95, B97
  • top - V01, V12, V15, V17
  • knitting - Y13, Y15, Y17, E15
  • kitty - C3, C5, C7, C9, R20
  • yarn - Y13, Y15, Y17
Here is Marci and the kitty after I fussy cut them out:

After I fussy cut, stamped the background on to a white square card from
Envelope Solutions, then die cut the long flag from a pale blue cardstock, I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Nautical Blue Memento ink then I arranged everything on the card before I stuck it all down.
For the twine - I tied some yellow and white paper cord that I found in my stash around the top of the card and tied it off!

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Monthly Classes and Bonus Classes from the awesome Alyce at Kit and Clowder. I also drew some inspiration from the La-La Land Crafts Blog.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Candy Cane Classic by Power Poppy for November Winter Wonderland on the 5th of November, 2021

At Winter Wonderland this month, we are hosted by Patricia!
Welcome to our eleventh challenge for 2021.

Our theme is:

Candy Canes and/or For a Child

So here is my project:

Please remember that it is Christmas projects only and they must include the theme of Candy Canes and/or For a Child.

This month, we don't have a sponsor, so we were able to choose anything in our stash, as long as it fit the theme! So we are also playing for fun as there will be no prize.

I chose the image Candy Cane Classic from the wonderful Marcella at Power Poppy, which I have digitally printed on to X-Press It blending card and then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the images (these were printed and cut a few years ago!)

I have coloured the image with the following Copics markers:
  • red - R22, R24, R39
  • white - C0, C1, C3
  • holly - YG03, YG17, YG67
  • berries - R24, R27, R59
  • ribbon - BG10, BG13. BG18
I then adhered the coloured images on to green and red tags from Envelope Solutions.

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Monthly Classes and Bonus Classes from the awesome Alyce at Kit and Clowder.

Here is a close-up of the colouring:

and another photo of the three tags:

I also die cut some red and green cardstock using the second biggest postage stamp die from La-La Land Crafts, then I also cut using the smallest and second smallest die (I still have them joined together!)

November Love to Craft Challenge Blog #64 for the 1st of November 2021

For my November challenge with Love to Craft Challenge Blog I chose to make a shaker shadow box card using some of the stamps and dies that I have received over the last months from La-La Land Crafts.

Here is my card for this month:

Here is a photo taken inside:

Here is also a photo of the inside of the card:

I have used stamps and dies from the Summer 2021 box by the wonderful Irina from La-La Land Crafts. Everything that was in the Summer box is now available in the July 2021 Release. I also then made it into a shaker card (but I think I may have too many sequins to see the background).

So I have mostly followed Irina's tutorial for using the Under the Sea Die set for making a shadow box card on Facebook. It was a great tutorial!! Very easy to follow along (especially as I could stop and replay!!) I have also used the Under the Sea Layering Stencil (you can see this in one of the progression shots below), the shark from Sea Life Clear Stamp Set and the Sea Critters Outlines Die. I also used the Water Ripples Layering Stencil and the seaweed from the Under the Sea Die and the seaweed, sea star and seahorse from Under the Sea Set Die in the very first Club La-La Land Crafts kit with Sitting Mermaid Marci!!!

For the shark, I used Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass, then Tuxedo Black Memento ink on X-Press It Blending Card. For the seaweed behind the shark, I die cut in a light kraft card stock, then used Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry. For the seahorse, sea star and other seaweed, I die cut the light blue card stock, them I have coloured with YR14 and YR18 (seahorse), V05 (sea star) and Distress Oxide Twisted Citron (seaweed).
For the background layer of the shadow box, I used Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass for the seaweed and then Picked Raspberry for the fish.

To make the shaker element, I usedWe R Memory Keepers - Photo Sleeve Fuse Waterfall Sleeve which I cut down to size and then "fused" on three sides using my Fuse tool before adding sequins and glitter from my stash and fusing the top edge. I think I may have used a few too many sequins, as it hides the background - next time!!

I then stamped one of the sentiments from Jawesome News Clear Stamp Set also from La-La Land Crafts using Nautical Blue Memento ink on to a strip of light blue card stock.

As I organised the card I took a few progression shots:

This was heaps of fun, so I will definitely make another one - although I am waiting for a few more Distress Oxide inks to be delivered! Also some of the Art Glitter Glue so that I can use Art Glitter Metal Tip that I received from Simon Says Stamp! As Irina and Martha over in La-La Land Crafts have been organising a bunch of classes to make boxes and folios, I will definitely be showing a few more intricate makes! :)
