Polka Dots and/or Stripes for Let's Craft and Create Challenge #222 on the 5th of August, 2025

For this month's challenge at Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog, we have the optional theme of

Polka Dots and/or Stripes

I made a very quick birthday card for my Mum using a design that was sent to my email from Cards by Kendra and then paper and die from La-La Land Crafts and sentiments from Power Poppy! So, here is my card:

So the products are:
I used my paper cutter to cut 2" x 3" rectangles of the paper, then I cut them into triangles. The edges of each triangle were (I can't think of the word, nor the tool!) roughed up. I then adhered the triangles to a piece of pearl cardstock using score tape (it seemed easier to line up then using glue).

Here is a photo before adhering to the card:

I stamped the sentiment using Elderberry Memento ink and my MISTI and then one of the Rounded Stitched Rectangles Die to die cut the sentiment piece.

I adhered the pearl cardstock with the triangles to the white card from Envelope Solutions and then attached the sentiment piece with foam tape.

Here is a photo from the side, showing the sentiment piece popped up:

I would like to enter this card into a few challenges:
Classic Design Challenge #07-2025 Jul/Aug - Anything Goes with Optional Twist: Sun, Sand or Surf
Mix It Up Challenge MIUCB #78 - Anything Goes + optional Mixed Media - I was a top pick last month!
Creative Fingers Challenge #305 - Anything Goes - I was top three in Challenge #304! :)

Let's Craft and Create Challenges are monthly and go live on the 5th of every month and you have until the end of the month to add your creations which can be anything goes plus an optional theme.

There is inspiration from the rest of the Let's Craft and Create DT over on the Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name. Hi All!
Welcome to my post about my card for challenge #257, the 6th of July 2025 challenge for the Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog.

Here is my card:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Star Stampz:

Prize is 3 images

I chose Spring Bumble Bee, which have digitally printed on to X-Press It Blending card and die cut with the Double Stitched Rectangles Die from La-La Land Crafts, before colouring with the following Copics markers:
  • skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, R20
  • eyes - B16, white gel pen
  • hair/yellow - Y13, Y15, Y19, E13,YR24

  • background - G40, G43, colourless blender
As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and her fantastic monthly classes and bonus classes.

To add a little sparkle, I used ink on 3 Liquid Pixie Dust on the wings, crown, flower and then the trails. It was the first time I used it and I think I was a little heavy handed! The wings of the bee took a while to dry!

Here is a close up of the colouring, after I added the Pixie Dust:

To finish the card, I used the Honeycomb Stencil Set from the Winnie the Pooh Release earlier in the year by La-La Land Crafts with Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink on to a Kraft card from Envelope Solutions.

Here is a photo of the card after I stencilled it:

Before adhering the image to the card, I stamped the sentiment from Just Bee-Cause Clear Stamp Set also from La-La Land Crafts using Nautical Blue Memento ink.

Add Buttons for Let's Craft and Create Challenge #220 on the 5th of June, 2025

I’m running a little late this month as it has been crazy busy; we’ve had a long weekend and we also have had some bad weather, so my computer has been off. Anyway, for this month's challenge at Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog, we have the optional theme of

Add Buttons

This was a challenge for me as I realised that I don't really have any buttons to put on to cards! So I have substituted with die cut buttons, as well as shiny sequins! So, here is my card:

I have used stamps, dies and paper from La-La Land Crafts, however the stamp set and one of the dies are from one of the KOTMs that has not been released to the regular range yet. So the products are:

I stamped the hedgehog images and the dress form using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on to Xpress It Blending card, then coloured with the following Copics:
  • Hedgehogs - E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, R20, R01, white gel pen
  • Pin cushion - BG01, BG05, BG07
  • Pins and needles - N1, N3, RV11, RV14
  • Scissors - N1, N3, N5
  • Thread - BG01, BG05, BG07
  • Spool - E31, E33, E35
  • Dress form - E50, E51, E53, N3, N5, N7, N9

I took inspiration from the awesome La-La Land Crafts DT and the wonderful Alyce from Kit and Clowder and her monthly classes. I fussy cut the hedgehogs and dress form. Here is a photo after fussy cutting:

I then die cut the Get Inky Paper using the two dies, including the buttons.

Here is a photo of most of the elements laid out on the card:

To put the card together, I adhered the two scalloped squares of paper on to a white slimline card from Envelope Solutions with the popped up dress form in between. I adhered parts of the quilt die, then popped up the hedgehogs.
The buttons were attached to the side of the card using Golden Sunset nuvo glitter drops, then the sequins were adhered with Art Glitter glue.

I would like to enter this card into a few challenges:
Classic Design Challenge #05-2025 May/June - Anything Goes with Optional Twist: Masculine
Mix It Up Challenge MIUCB #77 - Anything Goes plus optional Paper Piecing
The Creative Crafters Challenge #88 - Anything Goes - I was Top 3 last challenge!

Let's Craft and Create Challenges are monthly and go live on the 5th of every month and you have until the end of the month to add your creations which can be anything goes plus an optional theme.
