I signed up again for the Card Chain Challenge! Essentially you sign up and make a card that you send to the person before you in the sign up and the person that signed up after you, sends you a card!
For March, I made a card to send to Robyn up in sunny Queensland in Australia - this is what I sent her:
Here are the options that we had to make the card:
Theme Options: Forest / Farm / Friendship
Product / Technique Options: Patterned Paper / Ripped Edges
I definitely chose the farm theme!
I have used one of the first clear stamp sets from La-La Land Crafts called "From the Herd". It was released in April 2018 and unfortunately is no longer available, but I have been wanting to use it for ages! If I remember correctly there were a bundle of three clear stamp sets and I ordered all of them as a bundle! Plus there were also some Background Stamp sets that were also a bundle, which I also ordered! :)
Anyway, I stamped the individual animals on to X-Press It Blending Card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured 5 of the seven animals with the following Copics (I ran out of time and space for the pig and rooster!):
- goat - E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, C3, C5, C7, R30 (nose/ears), 100, white gel pen
- sheep - C00, C1, C3, R20, E31, E33, 100, white gel pen
- chicks - Y02, Y15, YR21, YR23, 100, white gel pen
- cow - C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, R83, RV11, R20, R30, E31, E33, 100, white gel pen
- sky - B000, B00
- grass - G03
- outline - B66
From card stock I then die cut the barn (white) and truck (red) from the May 2020 Club La-La Land Crafts kit as well as the Country Hill die (white) from La-La Land Crafts. I coloured the barns with R27, E37 for the "wooden" trim, E35 for the roof of the big barn, C7 for the doors of the barn and YR23 for the light. I used G03 for the trees and grass, E35 for the tree trunks and E37 for the fence. On the truck, I coloured the wheel hubs and tyres with C7, then the inside of the wheels and the door handle with silver glitter pen.
I fussy-cut the animals, then laid everything out on to a white slimline card from Envelope Solutions to work out where to colour the sky and grass:
Then I coloured the card with sky and grass colours as above:
To hide the Copics coming through on the other side, I adhered a piece of Kraft card to the inside of the card.
Here is a photo of the card taken in my new ShotBox from the top (bought it on sale from Spotlight!):
I found inspiration from La-La Land Crafts DT, who showcased some awesome cards using all three stamp sets and background stamps and as usual, from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and her fantastic monthly classes.
I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge 15th March Challenge - Anything Goes
A Perfect Time to Craft Challenge #4-2022 - April Anything Goes
Classic Design Challenge 6th Birthday April 2022 #4 - Anything Goes
Crafting Happiness Challenge #122 - April Anything Goes
I hope that Robyn likes the card, I was a little late posting it as I have been a little swamped with changing jobs - I bought a new car! :)
Thanks for looking!
