I am a little late posting this as I am travelling for work this week.
I signed up again for the Card Chain Challenge! Essentially you sign up and make a card that you send to the person before you in the sign up and the person that signed up after you, sends you a card!
For July, I made a card to send to Lucille in New Jersey - this is what I sent her:
Here are the options that we had to make the card:
Theme Options: Birds / Wheels / Friendship
Product / Technique Options: Something a friend sent you / Stitches
Product / Technique Options: Something a friend sent you / Stitches
When I saw the theme, I immediately thought of Marci on a bike and the seagulls from the Club La-La Land Crafts kit and it all just came together!
Here are some photos from a different angle so you can see the dimension:
Also, here is a photo of the card flat:
Marci on a bike was originally from the June 2021 Club La-La Land Crafts kit (it is now available separately) and the seagulls are from the June 2022 Club La-La Land Crafts kit. I have also used the lighthouse die from the June 2015 Club La-La Land Crafts kit, the Sun Smiles die, the Three Clouds die, the Seaside die and the Pilings Border die from the June 2022 Club La-La Land Crafts kit.
I have stamped Marci on a bike and the gulls on to X-Press It Blending card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured them with the following Copics:
- skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R30, R20, R21
- eyes - B00, B01 BG02, white gel pen
- lips - RV63, RV66, white gel pen
- hair - E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
- red - R24, R27, R46, R59
- blue - B12, B14, B16, 18
- white - white gel pen
- grey - C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9
- gulls - C0, C1, C3, C5, B00, Y15, Y35, Y38
Here is a close up of the colouring of Marci on a bike before I fussy cut her:
and the gulls after I fussy cut them:
I die cut the lighthouse, seaside and pilings from white card stock and then coloured them with the following Copics markers:
- lighthouse - Y15, R27, R46
- seaside top layer - B16, B18, B39
- seaside second layer - BG45
- seaside third layer - B02, BG02
- seaside fourth layer - B00, B01
- pilings grass - YG67
- pilings rope - C1, C3
Here are some photos after colouring:
To finish the front of the card, I found the yellow spotted paper in my stash and cut it to fit as my path, then I adhered everything to the front of a white square card from Envelope Solutions.
As usual I found inspiration from La-La Land Crafts DT, who showcased some awesome projects on the La-La Land Crafts blog and as usual, from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and her fantastic monthly classes.
I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
A Perfect Time to Craft Challenge #8-2022 - August Anything Goes (I was a spotlight winner in June!)
Classic Design Challenge August 2022 #8 - Anything Goes (I won first prize last month!!)
Mix It Up Challenge #60 - Anything Goes plus the Option of Clean and Simple
Crafty Calendar August Challenge - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers Challenge #236 - Anything Goes (I was in the Top 3 last month!)
I hope that Lucille likes the card, I was a little late posting it as my entire family ended up testing positive to COVID for the first time and here in SA, we need to isolate at home for a week - so it was an interesting couple of weeks!
