Pink and Grey for Let's Craft and Create Challenge on the 5th of April, 2023

For this month's challenge at Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog we have the optional theme of

Pink and Grey

As we are coming up to Easter, I immediately thought of a grey Easter Bunny with a pink egg! In 2020, Irina from La-La Land Crafts released an Easter Bunny digi freebie. Unfortunately it is no longer available, but I notice that the March 2021 release included the same bunny with Easter egg as a clear stamp in Oh, Crop! Clear Stamp Set.

So here is my card:

I have digitally printed the Easter Bunny digi from La-La Land Crafts with one of the sentiments a while ago on to X-Press It Blending card and then coloured with Copic inks as follows:
  • bunny - C00, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, R20, R30, colourless blender
  • egg - RV11, RV14, RV17, RV19
  • background - BG0000, BG000, BG01
  • outline - RV19
I have used a white gel pen and black glitter pen for the eyes and then pink and blue glitter pen for the sentiment.
I cut the image out with my paper cutter and then adhered to a Kraft card from Envelope Solutions.

Here is a close-up photo of the bunny during the colouring process and before he was adhered to the card:

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and used some inspiration from the cards of the La-La Land Crafts Design Team on the La-La Land Crafts blog and Facebook.

I would like to enter this card into a few challenges:
Let's Craft and Create Challenges are monthly and go live on the 5th of every month and you have until the end of the month to add your creations which can be anything goes plus an optional theme.

There is inspiration from the rest of the Let's Craft and Create DT over on the Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name. We always appreciate a comment or two! :) You can also find out what other challenges are out there, which could give you some ideas for your card stash.

Elephant Christmas Tree by Bugaboo Stamps for Winter Wonderland Challenge for the 5th of March, 2021

At Winter Wonderland this month, we are hosted by Christine.
Welcome to our third challenge for 2021.

Our theme is:

Trees

So here is my card:

I took this photo outside in some sunshine, but you can't see the sparkle very well - however the close up image below shows a heap of sparkle from the glitter pens!

Please remember that it is Christmas projects only and they must include the theme.
"Theme"

Our sponsor for this challenge is
Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps:

Everything that you ever wanted to know about Bugaboo Stamps - a short essay!
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of paper crafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was seven years ago.

Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.

Jodie works hard to provide new releases and freebies every week!

And the prize on offer for our lucky winner is:
$12 gift code to spend in the Bugaboo Stamps store.

I chose Elephant Christmas Tree for my image, which I digitally printed on to X-Press It blending card and then cut out using my paper cutter.
I have coloured the image with the following Copics markers:
  • elephant - C00, C0, C1, C3, C5, R20, G07, clear Wink of Stella
  • hat green - G02, G05, G07
  • hat red - R22, R24, R27, clear Wink of Stella
  • tree - YG03, G14, G17, G29
  • stocking green - G12, G14, G17
  • stocking blue - B12, B14, B16
  • stocking purple - V20, V22, V25
  • ornaments - glitter pens
  • tag - E30, E34
  • ribbon - R22, R24
  • brown - E13, E15, E17
  • background - BG0000, BG000
  • outline - BG01
I then adhered the coloured image on to a white square card from Envelope Solutions, which I stamped on all four edges with one of the border stamps from Snuggle Down by the wonderful Marcella at Power Poppy using Elderberry Memento ink and my MISTI. Unfortunately Snuggle Down seems to have been retired.

The sentiment is from Deck the Halls Clear Stamp Set by the wonderful Irina at La-La Land Crafts, but it also seems to have been retired. I have stamped the sentiment in Nautical Blue Memento ink using my MISTI.

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Monthly Classes and Bonus Classes from the awesome Alyce at Kit and Clowder.

Here are some close-ups of the sentiment and colouring:

Just looking at the part of the image between the elephant and the tree - I didn't realise that it was a present! I thought it was a balustrade or something wooden with a tag and a ribbon!

Anyway, I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
2 Crafty Critter Crazies March Challenge - Anything Goes as long as there is a critter or two!
ABC Christmas Challenges E, F and G - G is for Garland on the tree
Christmas with the Cuties Challenge #46 - Anything Christmas Goes as long as it is cute and optional theme of Elves/Gnomes and Fairies
Christmas Crafts All Year 'Round March Challenge - Something that starts with E and/or F - I have an elephant!

There is inspiration from the rest of the Winter Wonderland DT over on the Winter Wonderland blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name. We always appreciate a comment or two! :) You can also find out what other challenges are out there, which could give you some ideas for your card stash.
We all hope that you are able to join us for this challenge. Please remember that it is Christmas Projects only! We look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing your gorgeous Christmas creations. Tea Time Marci Box Card

Well, I clearly have been missing in action!
I have a new card, a combination of Copics and using my Silhouette Cameo.

I bought a Box Card SVG kit from SVGCuts.com and used my Silhouette to cut out the parts of the Tea Time Box Card set.
The Kraft card stock which forms the major part of the box card is from Francheville. The coloured card stock is from DCWV. Some of it was embossed with an embossing folder free with Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine. The paper on both sides of the flaps, as well as the tea cups, tea pot and some flowers are some origami paper from Daiso.
I coloured a digitally stamped Tea Time Marci (La La Land Crafts) on to X-Press It paper (from LimeTart) and then coloured her with the following Copics:

  • skin: E000, E00, E11, E21, E04 and R20; lipstick Spica on lips
  • hair: E21, E25 and E29
  • dress and headband: V12, V15, V17, V09, B93, B95, B97, B99, C0, C01 and C03
  • flowers on headband: V01, V05 and V09; clear Spica
  • leaves on headband: YG63 and YG67; clear Spica
  • tea cup and saucer: BG10, BG13 and BG15
  • boots: E31, E33, E35 and E37
  • background: B000

Marci was fussy cut and attached to the back of the card with pop dots.

I also highlighted one of the sentiments from Tea Time Marci which was digitally printed on to X-Press It paper with Copics V12, adhered to a kraft oval and framed with a purple card stock oval and attached with pop dots to the card.

The back panel is the blue card stock and is left blank for the message.

This card actually folds flat and will come with an envelope.

I'll update with a photo once I decide on the paper for the envelope!

This card is for sale on my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions. Click here for the link.

Water Can Marci Card - choose your sentiment

Here is a new card I put together using Watercan Marci (La-La Land Crafts), some free paper from Australian Papercraft Essentials and an orange daisy flower made from a die-cut and my new die-cutting/embossing toy!

I digitally printed Marci with Watering Can onto X-Press It blending paper (Lime Tart) and coloured her with the following Copics pens (mostly from Lime Tart):
  • skin: E000, E00, E11, lipstick Spica pen
  • hair: E50, E51, E53, E11
  • dress: RV10, RV13, RV14, RV17, Y11, Y15, Y17
  • boots: YG11, YG13, YG17, white Opaque pen
  • watering can: YG11, YG13, YG17
  • hat: Y11, Y15, Y17
  • flower on hat: RV10, RV13, RV14, RV17, Y15, Y17, clear Spica pen
  • background: B000
The daisy flower is die cut from some orange card stock I think is from DCWV.

Inspiration for the card came from the Australian Simply Cards magazine.

The card is a square white card and it comes with a white square envelope (both from Envelope Solutions).
The card does not have a sentiment as yet, but I think I will add it to my Choose your sentiment card series. Suitable sentiments could include "Happy Birthday", "Have a happy day", "Hello"......the list goes on! :)

This card will also be displayed in the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery and will be for sale in my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions. Link to follow.

Merry Christmas with Sunny Christmas Marci

Here is a card I made using Sunny Christmas Marci and some papers and die cuts from KaiserCraft.
The background paper and merry christmas sentiment are from Mint Twist 6 1/2" Paper Pad and the reindeer is from Mint Twist Collectables (all KaiserCraft).

Sunny Christmas Marci from La-La Land Crafts has been digitally printed on to X-Press It paper (Lime Tart) and hand coloured with Copics pens (mostly from Lime Tart), then fussy cut and adhered with foam adhesive squares.

For the life of me, I can't find the paper with the colours that I used. But when I do, I'll update this page.

The card is a square white card and it comes with a white square envelope (both from Envelope Solutions).

This card will also be displayed in the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery and is for sale in my Etsy shop: JemLou Productions. Here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/156134833/merry-christmas-with-sunny-christmas.

Merry Christmas Surprise Pop Up Card

I have just finished making my first surprise pop up card - visit Splitcoaststampers for some instructions on how to make one of these cards.

Here is a photo of the card closed and then open showing its surprise!

For the card, I used Kraft card stock from Franchville (Spotlight), then I covered the actual card with a green paper from Silly Season by KaiserCraft. The Merry Christmas sentiment is also from Silly Season by KaiserCraft. Red and white Baker's yarn is from KoKoVanillaDesigns.
Christmas Elf Luka from La-La Land Crafts is digitally printed on X-Press It card from Lime Tart and then coloured with Copics pens.
I used the following colours:

  • skin: E00, E11
  • hair: E31, E33, E35
  • hat and clothes: R20, R22, R27, YG00, YG03, YG17, YR16 (buckle), clear spica pen
  • presents: B00, B02, B05, R20, R22, R27, YG00, YG03, YG17
  • background: BG000
Luka is attached to the card with pop up adhesive dots for dimension.
The card is blank inside, I'll need to make an envelope for it.

I will link this to the La-La Land Craft Customer Gallery and also submit this to a new challenge: Addicted to Stamps and More - ATSM Challenge #49 - CAS and a challenge from a site I have participated in before - Paper Makeup Stamps: Digi Makeover Challenge #92 - Kraft.

Happy Travels with Travel Marci

Here is my latest card:

I coloured Travel Marci monochromatically with Copics markers as this was a challenge on the La-La Land Crafts Facebook Page.
I then used Cardabilities latest sketch for inspiration:

Travel Marci (La-La Land Crafts) was digitally printed on to x-Press It paper (LimeTart), then coloured with the following Copics Pens: E51, E53, E31, E33, E35, C1 (background).
The card base is Kraft (Envelope Solutions), a piece of blue textured cardstock (DCWV) was attached to the card, then strips of a paper from a Spring Stack (DCWV) from many years ago were hand-cut as banners and attached to the blue cardstock with Washi Tape (LimeTart). Travel Marci was attached with pop dots and "happy travels!" was hand written with Chocolate Spica pen.
This card is displayed on the La-La Land Crafts Facebook Page and the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery.

Have a sunny day with Summer Luka

Here is another card for this weekend.....

I drew inspiration from Paper Makeup Stamps again this week and used the sun from Jen's Sunshine.
The theme at Paper Makeup Stamps was "keep cool". I have had Summer Luka (La-La Land Crafts) for a little while now and wanted to use him, so after looking at the La-La Land Craft Blog, I saw a beautiful card by Debra James with an awesome background of beach huts, with Summer Luka and the sentiment "have a sunny day!" I tried to draw a beach hut, but then I remembered I had this palm tree stamp from Nitwit Collections (freebie with my Australian Simply Cards magazine).

Summer Luka is digitally stamped on to x-press it paper, as is the sun. The palm tree is stamped directly on to the card, which reminds me that I should adhere a piece of paper to the underside! I have also coloured the background with blues for the sky and yellows for the "sand".
The Copics pens I have used for Summer Luka are:

  • skin - E00, E11, E02
  • hair - YR20, E33, E35, E37
  • clothes - R35, R37, B02, B05
  • floaties - Y02, Y15, YG03, YG63
  • turtle - G02, G05, Y00, Y15
  • flippers - Y02, Y15
  • goggles/snorkel - BG000, BG10, BG15
For the sun, I used: Y11, Y15, Y17, R02 (cheeks), E02 (tongue).
For the palm tree, I used: E35 & E37 (trunk), E08 (coconuts), G02, G05 (leaves).
For the background sky, I used a combination of BG10, BG000 and B00. For the sand, I used Y02.

The sentiment is hand written in pitch black Spica pen.

This card will also be displayed in the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery and on the La-La Land Crafts Facebook page.

This card will be for sale on Etsy in my shop: JemLou Productions. The link to follow.

Thanks for looking! :)

Here is my latest creation using inspiration from Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #171 for the colours: blue and yellow, Cupcake Craft Challenge #203 and Paper Makeup Stamps Challenge #47 for the theme: The Great Outdoors and Endless Summer, respectively.
So here is my card:

Here is the inspirational photo from Cupcake Inspirations:

I have used a square white card and envelope from Envelope Solutions.
I have digitally stamped Tricycle Marci, the sentiment "Riding by to say Hi" and the fence from La-La Land Crafts and the sun from Jen's Sunshine, part of a set of digital stamps for charity from Paper Makeup Stamps.

I have printed on X-press It paper and coloured everything with Copics pens.

    • hair - E31, E35, E37
    • shorts/headband - B02, B05
    • top/hair bow - Y11, Y15, Y17

    • Y11, Y15, Y17
    • cheeks - R02
    • tongue - E02
Everything was coloured on the edge with B00.

I also made an addition to this card, as I thought it was lacking something in the middle!

I digitally stamped the sunflowers from La-La Land Crafts, then coloured them with the following Copic pens:
  • stems/leaves - YG03, YG63
  • flowers - Y02, YR07, Y28, E37
I think next time, I'll add the sunflowers and fence together before I print! Too much fussy cutting!! :)

This card is for sale on Etsy in my shop: JemLou Productions. Here is the listing: Riding By to Say Hi! Card.
This card will also be displayed in a few places:  La-La Land Customer Gallery and the La-La Land Crafts Facebook page.

Here is a card and bag combination! It is my first gift bag.....I have had the base kraft bag for a while now, but just not had an idea for what to put on the gift bag......until I saw this great sketch on Cardabilities and the challenge of spots and stripes on the La-La Land Crafts blog.

And here is what I have done.......
the gift bag:

the card:

The Kraft bag is from kraft selection.
The Kraft card and envelope are from envelope solutions.
The striped paper and paper with circles are both from DCWV.
The white ribbon with pink spots is from Craft Essentials.
Digital stamps of Heart Balloon Marci and Heart Balloon Luka (both from La-La Land Crafts) are printed on x-press it paper, then hand coloured with water colour pencils. They are then cut out and attached with pop dots.
The card has "Happy Birthday" stamped in Ultramarine ink (Vivid!).
The gift bag also has some baker's twine (from Koko Vanilla Designs) tied in a bow around one of the handles.

These two are for sale on Etsy in my shop: JemLou Productions. Here is the link to the card and here is the link to the gift bag.

They will also be posted to the La-La Land Crafts Customer Gallery.

My latest creations....May

These little cards have been used for a while as gifts....but I thought that I should actually try and sell some! Especially as a lot of love and hard work goes into creating each one!
LaLaLand Crafts digital stamps of Marci and Luka are printed on to card and then hand-coloured with water colour pencils and Spica glitter pens. Then I include a little envelope from Envelope Solutions.
Here are some of the ones that have already been sent as gifts or samples:

Then here is another idea I had, where I cut out the hand-coloured image and adhere it to coloured card stock:

I have actually included samples of these cards in my PCF Team May Scavenger Hunt items, so if you participate in the May Scavenger Hunt and win, you will receive one of these cards!
These cards would actually make great Thank You cards or perhaps even little gift tags.

These cards will also be displayed in the La La Land Crafts Customer Gallery.

Once I decide on how to list these, I will post a link to the listing on my Etsy Shop: JemLou Productions.

Thanks for looking! :)

Luka with Flowers Thank You Card

Here is my latest creation for the Card Patterns challenge. Here is the sketch from Card Patterns:

Here is my card, featuring Luka with Flowers from LaLaLand Crafts. He is printed on X-Press It paper and hand coloured with water colour pencils.

I have used:

  • a kraft card and envelope from Envelope Solutions (need to get some more!!)
  • A piece of paper from Webster's pages (free gift from Simply Cards Magazine) cut in a banner shape and inked on the edges with aquamarine Vivid! ink
  • a piece of textured card stock from DCWV, with rounded corners and inked on the edges with aquamarine Vivid! ink
  • a smaller piece of card stock stamped with thank you in aquamarine Vivid! ink
  • some flowers stamped in Violet Vivid! ink and glitter glue

The inside of the card is blank.

The envelope has a small piece of the paper attached to the bottom left corner of the front of the envelope.
This card will be for sale in my Etsy Shop: JemLou Productions. Come back later for the link.
This card will also be displayed in the LaLaLand Crafts Customer Gallery.
