Luka with Suitcase for Love to Craft Challenge #80 for May/June 2024

It has been another packed few months and I am very late posting this, but for challenge #80 for May/June 2024 of the Love to Craft Challenge Blog I wanted to showcase a card that I made from a workshop by La-La Land Crafts.

Here is my card for this month:

This card uses stamps, dies and papers from La-La Land Crafts and I followed Martha's video in the Cardmaking & Colouring Workshop from April 2022 to both colour Luka with suitcase and put the card together. For this particular workshop, we received everything already die cut and ready in labelled bags - it was awesome!! :)
Anyway, the products are:
Luka was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured with the following Copics:
  • Skin/shoes - E000, E00, E11, E13, R20
  • Hair - E40, E41, E43, E44
  • Suitcase/Grey - N0, N2, N4, N6
  • Orange - YR12, YR15, YR16, YR18
  • Blue - B93, B95, B97, B99
  • Brown - E11, E13, E15, E18
  • Aqua - BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
I finished off the details with a white gel pen, then fussy cut him.
Here is a photo of Luka:

The notebook page has been "aged" with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. Here are some photos of the inside of the trifold card:

I was going to try and make my own version for a Christmas card and I may still do that, but this month I ran out of time with travelling for work and going away for a week holiday camping!

Anyway, there is inspiration from the rest of the Love to Craft Challenge Blog DT over on the Love to Craft Challenge Blog, so please pop over to everyone's blog by clicking on their name. We always appreciate a comment or two! :) You can also find out what other challenges are out there, which could give you some ideas for your card or gift stash.

We all hope that you are able to join us for this challenge. We look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing your gorgeous "always anything goes" creations. Please ensure that you are a follower of the Love to Craft Challenge Blog!

October 2023 Card Chain Challenge Reveal

I signed up again for the Card Chain Challenge! Essentially you sign up and make a card that you send to the person before you in the sign up and the person that signed up after you, sends you a card!

For October 2023, I made a card to send to Jill in West Virginia - this is wh
at I sent her:

Here are the options that we had to make the card:

Theme Options: Bears / Balloons / Friendship

Product / Technique Options: Something Fluffy / Spotlight Stamping

I have used the theme options of bears, balloons and friendship, then also "something fluffy", although my version is not fluffy on the card, but is in real life! I have used a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire of a simple slider card, which you can find here! Unless indicated all the products are from La-La Land Crafts.

I stamped the bear images from December 2016 Club La-La Land Crafts kit on X-Press It Blending card with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, I coloured the three images and fussy cut them!

I have coloured all the images with the following Copics markers:
  • bears - E00, E11, E13, E15, E18, R20
  • basket - E71, E74, E77
  • balloon - BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, Y17
  • blue on earth - BG53, BG57, BG49
  • green on earth - G40, G43, G46
I then followed the tutorial from Jennifer McGuire Ink - Simple Mirror Stamping + DIY Slider Card using the Long Stitched Slots Die to make the slider part. I also used the Three Clouds Die plus Distress Oxide inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn.

I followed Jennifer's instructions in the video and used a "Pull" sentiment from Studio Light Essentials Collection Clear Stamps #276 - I think I bought it from Simon Says Stamp, but it doesn't seem to be available from there anymore. I stamped all three sentiments - "pull" and one from the December 2016 Club La-La Land Crafts kit and then one from May 2023 KOTM - all in Elderberry Memento ink.

I learnt from my last interactive card and doubled the pull tab, so that it easily slides back and forth and has some stability!

I adhered my interactive base to a white card from Envelope Solutions.

Here is a photo before I adhered the interactive base to the card and also before I stamped the sentiment on the pull tab:

Here is a photo of the images after fussy cutting:

Here is a photo of the card before, during and after pulling the slider:

As usual, I found inspiration for the colouring from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and her fantastic monthly classes.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:
Corrosive Challenge #10 - Anything Goes (I won this challenge last month!)
Critter Crazy Challenge #80 - Anything Goes with a Featured Critter - I have three!

I hope that Jill likes the card, again, I was a little late organising myself and posting it as I was away in Perth for work and then have been at a conference in the Adelaide Hills.

Thanks for looking!

Ta-Da Penguins for Merry Little Christmas Challenge #53 on the 1st of November, 2023

As it has been so crazy at work, I'm really late posting this.
Anyway, for challenge #53 for November/December 2023 of the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog I chose to use a new La-La Land Crafts stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp during Stamptember, as well as a die set that I bought from Simon Says Stamp by Lawn Fawn - I have been eyeing it off since it was released!

My little penguins are probably a little big for the Ta-Da! Diorama card, so I will need to check out the stamps that are meant to go with it!!

Anyway, here is my card:

Then it opens up - TA-DA! to reveal the third penguin!

I stamped the penguins from the La-La Land Crafts STAMPtember Exclusive Chill Winter Season Stamps and Dies on to X-Press It Blending card, die cut them with the matching dies and then coloured with the following Copics:
  • black - C3, C5, C7, C9
  • white - C00, C0, C1
  • beak/feet - YR12, YR14, YR18, R20
  • red - R22, R24, R27, R39
  • green - YG21, YG03, YG17
  • blue - B14, B16, B18
I also used a white gel pen and white blizzard Nuvo glitter drops.
I die cut the pieces for the Ta-Da! Diorama dies by Lawn Fawn from white cardstock, as well as the hillside inserts following one of the many tutorials available on YouTube.
I then coloured the pieces, other than the hillsides with the following Distress Oxide inks:
  • peacock feathers
  • salty ocean
  • tumbled glass
I put the Ta-Da! Diorama card together following the tutorial and adhered my three penguins with foam tape and glue.
The sentiment was stamped on card using my MISTI and Bahama Blue Memento ink, then die cut using one of the dies in the set!
To make the card, I have attached a piece of paper from Starry Night Paper Pack from La-La Land Crafts on to a Kraft card from Envelope Solutions. Then I adhered the Ta-Da! Diorama card in place.

Here is a close up of the penguins after they were fussy cut and before they were attached to the card:

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Alyce from Kit and Clowder and her Kit and Clowder Monthly Colouring Classes, as well as the awesome La-La Land Crafts DT.

Ribbon, Lace, Twine (Use all or some) Challenge at Let's Craft and Create for the 5th of May, 2023

For this month's challenge at Let's Craft and Create Challenge Blog we have the optional theme of

Ribbon, Lace, Twine (Use all or some)

I started to colour one of the cute ostriches from Irina at La-La Land Crafts for another project, but then changed my idea, so I decided to use him for this month at Let's Craft and Create Challenge.

So here is my card:

I have stamped one of the ostriches from Deck The Halls Clear Stamp Set from La-La Land Crafts using Black Tuxedo Memento ink on to X-Press It Blending card and then coloured with Copic inks as follows:
  • feathers - BV23, BV25, BV29
  • skin - E000, E00, E02, E21, E11, E04
  • eyes - BG13, BG15
  • purple - V12, V15, V17
  • turquoise - BG11, BG13, BG15
  • pink - RV63, RV55, RV66
  • orange - YR12, YR23, YR68
  • green - YG21, YG23, YG17
  • yellow - Y00, Y15, Y38
I have cut the image out using the Deck The Halls Outline Dies. Then I die cut the Noel die from Christmas Hodgepodge Paper and the Large Banner Die from Christmas Hodgepodge Paper, white cardstock and silver paper.
I already had a Snowflake Border Die cut from white card stock. I also found some smaller snowflakes in my stash that were die cut from the Snowflakes (set of 4) die from the October 2014 Club La-La Land Crafts Kit.

I assembled the banner with the snowflake border behind and looped some Baker's Twine from my stash through the holes in the banner. I adhered the banner on to Kraft card from Envelope Solutions using foam tape and then added the ostrich.
I also added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew to the snowflakes (I think I should have used one with more sparkle!)

Here is a close-up photo of the ostrich before he was die cut:

Here is the layout of the banner before I glued everything:

Here is another photo with the card flat so that you can see the colours:

As usual, I have taken inspiration from the wonderful Alyce at Kit and Clowder and used some inspiration from the cards of the La-La Land Crafts Design Team on the La-La Land Crafts blog and Facebook.

I would like to enter this card into a few challenges:
The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up Challenge #100 - Anything Goes Christmas with the Optional Twist of Holiday Decorations

Critter Crazy Challenge #74 - Anything Goes with a Featured Critter

I fussy cut out the images and then adhered them to a slimline card from Envelope Solutions.

Here is another photo, but the sentiment is hidden by the spiky things!

I have taken inspiration for the colouring from the Power Poppy Blog as well as the awesome Alyce at Kit and Clowder.

Here is a close-up of the colouring of the Under Glass images: hopefully you can see a little of the sparkle.
